Coming Events and Opportunities for Service

Global Fest Logo

Mark your calendars!

Friday, October 8, 2010, is the date for this year's Global Fest. The Event will take place at First Baptist Church of New Orleans, 5290 Canal Boulevard (plenty of free parking).

This will be a great evening with a seafood dinner and dessert extravaganza, followed by delightful musical entertainment. We'll begin with a silent auction!!!

While you dine, you will be entertained by our Jazz Ensemble. Relax after our dessert extravaganza and enjoy the dueling pianos of Diane Boazman and John Thibodaux, plus hear choral music from Korean singers.

We have collected quite a variety of items for our silent auction. This was an exciting event last year. We have some great items already donated, but we can always use more. Call us if you can donate.

Remember, this event will provide needed funds to help with our growing outreach ministry in our port. We need your help to do this.

Global Fest will begin at 5:30. Please feel free to come early, bid on the auction items, and then enjoy a wonderful evening of dining and entertainment

For a special treat: Look for our favorite cartoonist, Dr. Joe McKeever, with his sketch pad!

Tickets are available online (click on Giving), by calling one of our centers, or emailing mary@portministry.com

Tickets are $15.00 and you will have a super-fantastic evening of dining and entertainment!

Carnival Triumph

Join us for a Thanksgiving cruise on the Carnival Triumph, November 20-27, 2010. We will have some great preaching, Bible Study, music, and lots of fun.

The Triumph sails out of New Orleans at 4 p.m. on Saturday, through the mouth of the river, and into the Gulf of Mexico, where you'll spend two restful and relaxing fun days at sea.

Sunset on waterThe first stop is the tropical paradise of Belize, with crystal clear rivers, impressive jungles, and rare wildlife. It boasts silky sand beaches, palm trees, colorful coral gardens, plus many other natural wonders. You can motor bike in the mountains or snorkel with sharks.

Island of RoatanOn Wednesday, on to the Island of Roatan, 40 miles off the northern coast of Honduras. Here you will find beautiful white sandy beaches. You may choose to snorkel in crystal blue waters or view the wildlife, where you will encounter parrots, monkeys, and lizards. Look for the lizard that "walks on water."

Beach sceneOn Thursday, Happy Thanksgiving, and welcome to Cozumel, a popular diving spot and home to Palancar Reef. You can relax on the beautiful beach or take in any number of seaside activities, including shopping!

ParrotShore excursions offer a multitude of entertainments from city tours, jungle adventures, cave tubing, scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, sailing, golfing, dolphin encounters, and Mayan ruin exploration. Some of these excursions fill up quickly, so plan ahead.

Friday is a relaxing day at sea heading home. The ship arrives back in New Orleans at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
