Is this a family-friendly place to serve?

Yes, families are welcome to come and serve together.

Our ministry is a great place for a family-friendly mission trip. Many seafarers enjoy interacting with children because they miss seeing their own children and families. However, children must be accompanied by a parent that will be responsible for them the entire time they are here.

Teams of up to 12 people are best.

What accommodations do you have for volunteers?

The second floor of our New Orleans center and the bunkhouse at our River Parishes center is dedicated to housing volunteers.

We have bunk beds, restrooms with showers, a sitting area, washing machine, and a kitchenette. You will need to bring your own pillows, linens, towels, soap, toiletries, etc.

We do not charge for lodging, but request a donation.

There is no charge for volunteers to stay overnight at our centers, but we do ask for a donation. The amount is up to you and varies based on many factors such as number of people, length of stay, etc.

Cooking meals or dining out will be your decision.

You may prepare meals at the center if you wish. We have a full-size kitchen which is available for you to use. There are 3 grocery stores in our immediate area (Wal-Mart, Rouse’s & Winn Dixie). Of course there are many great New Orleans restaurants nearby as well.
